★The rule of “User-Pays principle” has been enforced since 2016 (Only for the accidental extensive repair. We will not ask it except for some extraordinary reason). Please confirm “User-Pays rule” before usage of our laboratory.
★MC-ICP-MS has registered “Open Facility” system since Jan 2025. All users can book this equipment using GFC system.
○Basic information for All users
・The following members allow to use our laboratory.
(1) The staff of Hokkaido Univ.
(2) The students at graduate school of Hokkaido Univ.
(3) The 4th year undergraduate students of Hokkaido Univ.
(4) The visitors conducting collaborative research with the staffs of Hokkaido Univ.
*The researchers of external organizations (Only for MC-ICP-MS)
・Our laboratory is open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays.
・Nobody can use our laboratory in night. Running overnight automatically is acceptable. Please set analysis until 5pm, and pickup your sample and data next morning.
・All users usually operate by yourself.
・We also provide the commissioned analysis service.

○Application for the operating users
For SEM, EPMA and XRD
・You can book the equipment by sending an e-mail. You can also contact the staff directly.
For XRF, ICP-MS and MC-ICP-MS
・Please send e-mail to the staff.
・The schedule will be arranged because we borrow the room of the other laboratories.
・For MC-ICP-MS, you will use the booking system of GFC system. Please contact the staff for detail.
○Application for the commissioned analysis service
・We will confirm and discuss the kind of analysis and data before application. Please send e-mail to the staff at first.
・We may not be able to provide the service during the busy period from the October to January.

・We will charge the usage fees according to the following schedule. Please tell us if you want to pay the fees using the external funds.
(1) Fee in the period from April to December: Charge in next January
(2) Fee in the period from January to February: Charge in early March
(3) Fee in March: Charge in April (Cannot use the external funds except for multi-year funds)
★For MC-ICP-MS
・We will charge the usage fees according to the following schedule (for internal usage). Please check the details on GFC website. →→→ Fee list
(1) Fee in the period from April to June: Charge in early July
(2) Fee in the period from July to September: Charge in early October
(3) Fee in the period from October to December: Charge in early January
(3) Fee in January: Charge in early February
(3) Fee in the period from February to March: Charge in April (Cannot use the external funds except for multi-year funds)
○About cancellation
・When you want to change or cancel the booking, please tell us as soon as possible.
・For the cancellation at the last minute, the following fees are charged.

○Important notes
・Our laboratory is used by many users. Please follow the rules.
・For students, please ask your supervisor before application.
・You must pay the repair fee when you involve the accident due to the serious negligence.
